• Sensei - Justin

    Sensei Rybie has earned the rank of Yondan (4th degree black belt), and the title of Shidoin (Instructor), and has 25 years of karate experience. Sensei Rybie has been very involved in the karate community both nationally and internationally. Sensei Rybie has competed in Karate Alberta Tournaments, on the Alberta Team in the National Karate Championships, and in five international tournaments in Hong Kong, Australia, Norway, and Japan. Sensei Rybie is a former international Kumite and Team Kumite Champion, as well as finishing top three in kata on three occasions.

  • Sempai - Jenny

    Jenny Rybie has been training Chito-Ryu karate for 20 years and currently holds the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt) and the title of Jun-Shidoin (junior teacher). Jenny has been teaching for over 15 years and has competed internationally in Australia, Norway, Japan and Hong Kong. Jenny placed 4th in Womens Team Kumite in Hong Kong in 2013.

    Jenny is a mother of two boys, and works full time as a Social Worker in Edmonton.

  • Sempai - Stephen

    Stephen Clarke has been training Chito-Ryu karate for 12 years and received his Shodan (1st degree black belt) in June 2012. Stephen has been teaching for 6 years and has competed internationally in Norway, Japan and Hong Kong. Stephen won 1st place for Junior Team Kumite in Norway and 4th place for Kata in Japan.

    Stephen graduated MacEwan University and enjoys playing dodgeball and Soccer.

  • Sempai - Kristen

    Kristen Bentz has been training Chito- Ryu for 18 years and received her Shodan (1st degree black belt) in June 2014. Kristen has been teaching for 8 years and has competed in Japan in 2010. Kristen is an International Kata Champion and won 3rd in Kumite as well.

    Kristen graduated from University of Alberta and works for the City of Edmonton.
